Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

Application Development Department - One of processes in FEMA had undergone numerous usage changes since first being implemented two years prior. Orion's Arrow personnel redesigned this disbursement process, greatly enhancing the responsiveness and flexibility of the workflow. The newly re-designed process took advantage of many of the features available in the recently upgraded version of the document imaging facility called ViewStar.

United States Patent and Trademark Office

Patent Applications Department - The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) chose to purchase a third party package, ViewStar, to store their incoming patent applications. Orion's Arrow personnel led the data conversion team in the design, specification, and coding of a solution that fully utilized the workflow capabilities of the imaging tool, ViewStar. The new incoming patent applications were to be converted weekly from a tape source. Conversion included the automated error resolution, and the optical archive of error-free patent applications.

United States Postal Service

Worker's Compensation Department - The United States Postal Service was re-engineering its Worker's Compensation Reporting and Injury Tracking System, utilizing ViewStar, a document imaging and workflow package. Orion's Arrow personnel led the design/development and prototype of the ViewStar package implementation. The USPS MIS staff had no experience with the ViewStar package. Orion's staff facilitated and transferred knowledge to the MIS staff during the package configuration, client setup, performance analysis, workflow design, and prototype coding. Once management approved the resulting prototype and project plan, the project management responsibility for the implementation was transferred to internal MIS staff.

United States Treasury

Taxation Department - Orion's Arrow personnel managed the project for the customization, data conversion, and implementation to track, share, and distribute documents. Using the document management product, PC Docs, Orion's Arrow personnel installed the product, interviewed users, wrote the design documentation, coordinated with the development team, and kept the management informed of progress.
