American Family Insurance

Information Services Department - Orion's Arrow personnel participated on a small team that architected, designed, and implemented an "Information Catalog" - a data warehouse for I/S database metadata. Catalog is a web-based system utilizing Visual Basic, ActiveX, ASP, MS Interdev, and MS Repository technologies. The team also designed a corporate Intranet web site and other corporate web pages. Additionally, Orion personnel conducted Object Oriented and software development training sessions.

CUNA Mutual Insurance

Lending Operation Center - Orion's Arrow personnel designed and implemented four key applications, providing inventory management, transaction processing, order adjustment and record conversion abilities for an insurance lending operations center. Using a three-tier architecture and Object Oriented concepts, applications were designed using Visual Basic using an Oracle database.

Claims Center - Orion's Arrow personnel added new features to enhance an electronic notice-of-claims application using Visual Basic. Also, Orion's staff designed an on-line help system for a Claims Reengineering project. During the development and implementation release cycles, Orion's staff provided configuration support and software/hardware problem resolution with the Claims Reengineering project. The staff also developed software installation mechanisms and procedures for local and remote customer offices.

Sales and Marketing - Orion's Arrow personnel developed a reporting system designed to determine the performance of sales employees, specific insurance products, and promotional offers. Also, Visual Basic applications were developed to download the data from DB2 and manipulate it into a new database schema, producing user reports using a reporting interface in MS Access. Additionally, the reports were integrated with Lotus Notes so managers would receive automated emails of their regional reports. Orion personnel also developed report tracking and error logging for system administrators.

ING Variable Annuities

Transaction Department - ING needed immediate emergency support of their ViewStar document imaging implementation. This implementation is used in mission critical processing of account openings, deposits, debits, and account closings. Orion's Arrow personnel provided onsite support to keep their production system running, as well as long term written proposals to improve the efficiency of their implementation and enhance their system's functionality.

Northern Trust

Benefit Payments - The Northern Trust was re-engineering its Benefit Payment Department using PowerBuilder GUI, DB2 database, and ViewStar workflow package. To validate feasibility, Orion's Arrow personnel created a working prototype integrating the ViewStar workflow engine with a PowerBuilder user interface. Orion's personnel wrote functional specifications, coded custom Script, and assisted the system recoverability/disaster management planning. While onsite, Orion's personnel also conducted ViewStar installations/upgrades for other departments.

Security First Network Bank

Marketing - Security First Network Bank is an Internet bank startup with a critical need to gather marketing perspectives from its in-house database of campaigns, applicants, customers, and transactions. Orion's Arrow personnel led a team to make technical improvements to the existing database, created production reports based upon the contents of that database, and provided ad-hoc report generation for the SFNB Marketing department. The front-end interface to an SQL server database was developed using MS Access. The Crystal Reports facility was used to produce the production reports.

Chicago Title Company

MIS Department - Orion's Arrow staff audited their implementation of the ViewStar document imaging system, resulting in a written list of outstanding issues, recommendations for performance improvements, and user enhancements. Orion's staff also implemented these recommendations. The most significant enhancement involved using screen scraping on a 3270 window to alleviate keying of document data from the AS400 invoicing system to the PC-based ViewStar system.
