Each is described briefly. Hourly rate: Includes time and an estimated travel surcharge. Billing is based on the actual hours worked, so timesheets are provided. Since travel is included, expense sheets are irrelevant. Time and material: Both timesheets (actual hours worked) and expense sheets (actual travel expenses) are billed to the client. Fixed bid: Specifications and negotiations occur before the contract is signed. Then, as deliverables are provided, fixed amounts, as defined by the contract, are billed to the client. Annual help desk contract: Support hours are prepaid annually. Since the contract is billed prior to the services being rendered, the hourly rates are discounted to the client.
